Role Summary: We are in search of a skilled M&A Consultant to join our team on a fractional basis, with the potential for a full-time position in the near future, if desired. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in M&A consulting, particularly within the SME domain, and will possess a thorough understanding of the complete mergers and acquisitions process. This role demands a strategic mindset capable of providing expert advice, facilitating deal execution, and maximizing value for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exit Strategy Development: Perform detailed business valuations, audits, and create growth strategies to enhance client value prior to sale.
  • Client Consultation: Offer expert guidance on M&A strategies, transaction structuring, and valuation. Aid in the creation of marketing documents, including teasers, information memoranda, and management presentations.
  • Due Diligence Management: Oversee and coordinate the due diligence process, ensuring a thorough assessment of financial, operational, and legal aspects of transactions.
  • Negotiation Support: Assist clients in negotiating transaction terms and conditions. Facilitate communication among buyers, sellers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless deal progression.
  • Market Research: Conduct market analysis to identify industry trends, competitive landscapes, and potential acquisition opportunities.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, investors, legal advisors, and other M&A professionals.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years in M&A consulting, investment banking, or corporate development, with a focus on SMEs. Experience across various key sectors such as technology, manufacturing, and healthcare is preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field. An advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is advantageous.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Technology Skills: Familiarity with M&A software and tools, along with a solid understanding of the SaaS business model.
