Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and proactive Senior Manager of Indirect Taxation to join our expanding tax division based in London. In this dynamic role, you will engage in a range of projects within a thriving global organization.

Reporting directly to the Group Head of Tax, you will tackle intriguing and complex tax challenges while playing a key role in shaping and executing the indirect tax strategy across the organization, encompassing all facets of indirect tax compliance and risk management.

Assist the Group Head of Tax in evaluating the effectiveness of indirect tax controls, processes, and policies to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient compliance across more than 25 countries.

Supervise the preparation and submission of VAT returns in the UK.

Lead the provision of intricate indirect tax advisory services concerning international tax issues, including offering support to the broader tax team on indirect tax considerations related to market entry, ensuring effective management of indirect tax costs.

Identify and execute indirect tax planning opportunities and strategies for risk mitigation.

Stay informed about international VAT developments relevant to digital enterprises and communicate these insights to the business in a clear and impactful manner, including updates on changes to VAT legislation and rates.

Provide ongoing VAT guidance and training to internal stakeholders, including finance, procurement, and legal teams, as necessary.

Collaborate with our broader tax team to review and provide insights on new contracts.

Coordinate indirect tax processes and control frameworks to ensure compliance with Senior Accounting Officer provisions for all applicable UK entities.

Foster strong relationships across the organization to ensure early involvement of the tax team in proposed transactions, advocating for commercially viable and pragmatic tax solutions.

Build trust and rapport with advisors and tax authorities.

Required Qualifications

- Must hold a CTA qualification

- Minimum of 10 years of indirect tax experience within a multinational corporation or a mid/large accounting firm

- Comprehensive understanding of tax accounting, compliance, and filings

- Strong technical expertise in UK and European indirect tax matters related to goods and services

- Proven ability to meet deadlines in a complex and dynamic environment, with key skills including attention to detail, effective project management, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects

- Self-motivated with a proactive approach, comfortable working independently

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

- Experience with internal controls

- Familiarity with digital services

- Proficiency in tax technology, including OneSource and SAP
