Position OverviewAre you ready to elevate your professional journey?
The Tax Division at Playtech is in search of a proactive, motivated, and enthusiastic Senior Manager of Indirect Taxation who possesses exceptional communication and analytical skills.
Your impactful responsibilities will include:
- Reporting to the Group Head of Tax and engaging with intriguing, complex tax challenges.
- Participating in a dynamic, business-facing role, contributing to various projects within a thriving global organization.
- Assuming responsibility for the development and execution of the indirect tax strategy across the organization, encompassing all facets of indirect tax compliance and risk management.
- Assisting the Group Head of Tax in evaluating the effectiveness of indirect tax controls, processes, and policies to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient compliance across more than 25 countries.
- Overseeing the submission of VAT returns in the UK.
- Leading the provision of intricate indirect tax advisory services related to international tax issues, including supporting the broader tax team on indirect tax considerations for market entry to ensure effective management of indirect tax costs.
- Identifying and implementing opportunities for indirect tax planning and strategies for risk mitigation.
- Keeping abreast of international VAT developments relevant to digital enterprises and communicating these insights to the business in a clear and impactful manner, including updates on changes to VAT legislation and rates.
- Providing ongoing VAT guidance and training to internal stakeholders, including finance, procurement, and legal teams.
- Collaborating with the wider tax team to review and advise on new contractual agreements.
- Coordinating indirect tax processes and control environments to support compliance with Senior Accounting Officer provisions for all relevant UK entities.
- Establishing strong relationships across the organization to ensure early involvement of the tax team in proposed transactions and advocating for commercially viable and pragmatic tax solutions.
- Building trust and rapport with advisors and tax authorities.
Essential attributes include:
- CTA qualification is mandatory.
- A minimum of 10 years of indirect tax experience within a multinational corporation or a mid/large accounting firm.
- Comprehensive knowledge of tax accounting, compliance, and filings.
- Strong technical expertise in UK and European indirect tax matters concerning goods and services.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines in a complex, dynamic environment, with key skills including attention to detail, effective project management, and the capacity to prioritize multiple tasks and work streams.
- Self-starter qualities, demonstrating initiative, high motivation, and comfort in working autonomously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in digital services.
- Familiarity with tax technology, including OneSource and SAP.
