About the Role

Oxford Nanopore Technologies is a leading company in the field of nanopore sequencing, with a strong presence in the UK and globally. We are seeking a highly skilled Bioinformatics Quality Assurance Specialist to join our Customer Workflows Group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain quality assurance protocols and procedures for bioinformatics software, data analysis pipelines, and computational workflows.
  • Execute test plans, including functional, integration, regression, and performance testing of bioinformatics tools and databases.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of bioinformatics data through meticulous validation and verification processes.
  • Collaborate on and maintain comprehensive documentation of QA processes, test cases, validation reports, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., CLIA, CAP, FDA, IEC-62304, GAMP-5) in all bioinformatics QA activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a bioinformatics QA or software testing role.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards in the bioinformatics or clinical and applied domains.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance processes and methodologies in a bioinformatics setting.
  • Experience with testing and validating bioinformatics software applications and tools.
