Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Bioinformatician/Data Scientist to join our team and contribute to the development of our bioinformatics capability. This role will involve working closely with our Bioinformatics lead to uncover novel therapeutic targets and pathways, and to develop innovative treatments in immuno-metabolism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement sophisticated analysis methods, including meta-analysis and Machine Learning (ML), to interrogate omics datasets and identify novel therapeutic targets and pathways.
  • Lead the development and growth of our in-house omics database, ensuring high-quality, analysis-ready data.
  • Design and implement visualisation tools and dashboards using RShiny to facilitate team access to data.
  • Collaborate with our Bioinformatics lead to develop and implement bioinformatics pipelines.
  • Experience in processing and analysing transcriptomics data, including quality control checks, technical and biological artifact exploration, batch effect correction, PCA analysis, gene quantification, gene annotation, differential expression analysis, and pathway analysis.
  • Experience in acquiring and processing publicly available omics data from repositories such as GEO, ArrayExpress, and SRA.
  • Familiarity with Linux OS and cloud computing.
Requirements
  • PhD in immunology, metabolism, cellular or computational science, or a higher degree with several years of working as a data scientist in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Knowledge and experience in applying ML to omics data for drug discovery.
  • Multi-omics experience and integrative analysis of different omics datasets.
  • Knowledge of relevant areas of biology, such as metabolism, immunology, and cancer biology.
