Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Bioinformatician/Data Scientist to join our team and contribute to the development of our bioinformatics capability. This role will involve working closely with our Bioinformatics lead to uncover novel therapeutic targets and pathways, and contribute to the growth of our in-house omics database.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement sophisticated analysis methods, including meta-analysis and Machine Learning (ML), to interrogate omics datasets and identify novel therapeutic targets and pathways.
- Process and analyze transcriptomics data, including quality control checks, technical and biological artifact exploration, batch effect correction, PCA analysis, gene quantification, gene annotation, differential expression analysis, and pathway analysis.
- Acquire and process publicly available omics data from repositories such as GEO, ArrayExpress, and SRA.
- Develop bioinformatics pipelines and visualisation tools using RShiny to facilitate team access to data.
- Collaborate with our Bioinformatics lead to ensure omics data is processed using well-established and up-to-date methods to generate high-quality, analysis-ready data.
- PhD in immunology, metabolism, cellular or computational science, or a higher degree with several years of experience as a data scientist in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience in applying Machine Learning to omics data for drug discovery.
- Multi-omics experience and integrative analysis of different omics datasets.
- Knowledge of relevant areas of biology, including metabolism, immunology, and cancer biology.
