STERIS is a worldwide leader in delivering healthcare and life science solutions aimed at fostering a healthier and safer environment. We are currently in search of a Maintenance Engineer to enhance our team and support our Integrated Management System (IMS) sites.

Position Summary:

  • Ensure the upkeep and repair of all machinery and equipment to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Supervise the activities of contract and service engineers.
  • Conduct necessary weekly assessments to ensure the functionality of sterilizers and washers.
  • Notify the National Maintenance Manager regarding any alterations in machine cycle profiles.
  • Perform servicing of machinery prior to quarterly and annual validations.
  • Organize annual validation schedules for plant equipment.
  • Guarantee that machinery complies with the Medical Devices Directive requirements.
  • Maintain validation and calibration certifications for Medical Device Directive registration.
  • Oversee the inventory of spare parts and tools.
  • Engage in Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) inspections on a weekly basis.
  • Participate in the on-call maintenance rota.
  • Travel to various sites within the organization as needed.
  • Contribute to innovation, continuous improvement, and the implementation of best practices.
  • Engage in staff development and training programs.
  • Participate in the Synergy Health Performance Management System.

Qualifications:

  • Apprentice-trained engineer or equivalent qualifications are essential.
  • A minimum of 2 years of engineering experience in Facilities or Manufacturing environments.
  • Qualified in mechanical or electrical disciplines.
  • Possession of a full UK driving license with a maximum of 3 penalty points.
