Overview:
As an Ocean Freight Import Specialist, you will report directly to the Customer Service Manager. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver exceptional service to our clients and international partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the entire import process from booking to delivery, ensuring all customs clearance requirements are met.
  • Collaborate closely with the Commercial Team to enhance our ocean freight services.
  • Prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion of all duties.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and suppliers, addressing any issues promptly.
  • Communicate effectively with overseas partners and the Ocean Imports Freight team.
  • Ensure all shipments are accurately recorded in our system prior to departure, verifying all documentation.
  • Gather all necessary information from clients to facilitate customs clearance and cargo release.
  • Provide transport companies with essential details to meet delivery expectations.
  • Ensure all financial obligations are settled before importing or releasing orders.
  • Cost and invoice all files before delivery.
  • Work with customers and colleagues to adhere to specific instructions and spreadsheets.
  • Proactively inform your manager of any potential issues that may impact deadlines.
  • Address accounting queries and issues as directed by management, ensuring resolution within 48 hours.
  • Assist with insurance claims in accordance with company policies when requested.
  • Complete weekly and month-end tasks as instructed by your manager.
  • Adhere to all Client Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of corporate culture.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ocean freight imports.
  • Proactive mindset with excellent customer service abilities.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage systems effectively.
  • Team-oriented with strong planning capabilities.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
Additional Responsibilities:
