Job Title: Senior Programme Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Programme Manager to lead our large-scale programmes and/or portfolios of projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering projects within agreed timescales, budgets, and in conformance with agreed requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Management: Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including Statements of Work, to ensure successful project delivery.
- Team Leadership: Lead multiple project teams and ensure the efficient utilization of assigned staff and third-party resources.
- Progress Monitoring: Monitor project progress against plans and budgets, identifying and escalating risks as necessary.
- Third-Party Management: Manage third-party subcontractors, ensuring deliverables are produced on time, to required quality standards, and in line with agreed commercials.
- Risk and Issue Management: Assess and report risks and issues, proactively predicting and mitigating risk.
- Resource Management: Participate in KPMG UK's resource management, utilisation, and capacity planning processes to ensure optimum utilisation of allocated resources.
- Leadership and Development: Provide leadership to other project managers, contribute to the refinement and improvement of our best practice project delivery methodology, and mentor junior staff.
- Non-Billable Resource Utilisation: Minimise non-billable resource utilisation on projects, tracking non-billable effort against project budgets.
Requirements:
- Extensive Programme Management Experience: Proven track record of complex software implementation projects, full lifecycle implementation experience required.
- Project Delivery Experience: Proven track record of delivery of multiple simultaneous projects.
- Third-Party Management Experience: Experience managing third-party subcontractors, ideally including independent software vendors (ISVs).
- Technical Skills: Very strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly with Microsoft Project, Excel, and SharePoint. Experienced in Agile project management, ideally with direct experience and knowledge of tools including Jira, VSTS, TFS, and methodologies including Scrum and Kanban.
- Industry Experience: Ideally experienced in delivery of eCommerce projects, preferably utilising Magento and/or.Net or Java-based basket platforms. Experience of delivery on online solutions such as eCommerce and/or customer portals with complex integration to line of business systems and payment gateways preferable.
- Leadership and Development Skills: Excellent time management skills, with demonstrable experience of working under pressure to tight deadlines and managing a high workload with conflicting priorities. Experienced in mentoring junior staff and supporting their professional development.
