About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and communicative Receptionist Apprentice to join our team at Newgate Medical Group. As a key member of our front desk team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and monitor the practice appointment system
  • Process personal telephone and E requests for appointments
  • Answer incoming phone calls and transfer calls or deal with callers' requests appropriately
  • Signpost patients to the correct service
  • Initiate contact with and respond to requests from patients, team members, and external agencies
  • Photocopy documentation as required
  • Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
  • Input data into patients' healthcare records as necessary
  • Direct requests for information, SARs, insurance, solicitors' letters, and DVLA forms to the administrative team
  • Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner, including prescription queries
  • Carry out system searches as requested
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
  • Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards
  • Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested

Person Specification

  • GCSE Maths and English (C or above)
  • AMSPAR Receptionist Qualification or Customer Service Level 2 or 3
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Strong IT skills
  • Clear, polite telephone manner
  • Competent in the use of Office and Outlook
  • Effective time management (planning and organizing)
  • Ability to work as a team member and autonomously
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to follow policy and procedure

As a Receptionist Apprentice, you will form part of an existing team, working together to maintain a high-quality service.
