We are looking to recruit a Receptionist Apprentice, working full time, Monday to Saturday. You may be required to work extended hours, depending on the needs of the business.

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception dutiesand the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include, but are not limited to,greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system,booking appointments, the processing of information and assisting patients asrequired.

To act as the central point of contact for patients, thedistribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team,liaising with multi-disciplinary team members and external agencies such assecondary care and community service providers.

You will need to complete a Customer Service Specialist Level 2 or Level 3 apprenticeship course as part of this role.

Job description

Job responsibilities

The following are the core responsibilities of theReceptionist apprentice. There may be on occasion a requirement to carry outother tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffinglevels

Maintain and monitor the practice appointment system

Process personal telephone and E requests for appointments

Answer incoming phone calls

Transfer calls or deal with the callers request appropriately

Signpost patients to the correct service

Initiating contact with and respond to, requests frompatients, team members and external agencies

Photocopy documentation as required

Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevantpatient information as required and when required

Input data into patients healthcare records as necessary

Direct requests for information, SARs, insurance,solicitors letters and DVLA forms to the administrative team

Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient mannerincluding prescription queries

Carry out system searches as requested

Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times

Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards

Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested

Qualifications

Essential

GCSE Maths and English (C or above)

Desirable

AMSPAR Receptionist Qualification or Customer Service Level 2 or 3
