Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our specialist eating disorder team at Swindon Community Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing evidence-based care to young people and their families in the community.

Main Responsibilities

As a Senior Mental Health Practitioner, you will be responsible for:

  • Initial assessment and provision of evidence-based interventions for young people with eating disorders
  • Supervising junior colleagues and supporting their professional development
  • Working with students and contributing to the development of the team
  • Participating in a flexible working pattern to provide cover for a core working day and on-call rota

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Relevant professional mental health qualification (Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker)
  • Current registration with relevant professional body (NMC, HCPC, Social Work England)
  • Experience as a Band 5, or equivalent, Mental Health professional
  • Experience in working with children and young people with eating disorders
  • Knowledge of mental health and risk assessment and management skills
