About GSL Education: GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and qualified Early Years Practitioner for a special educational needs institution. This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about fostering the growth and development of young children with diverse needs.

Qualifications for Early Years Practitioner:

  • Possession of a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Early Years, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 6 months experience in an Early Years or Nursery environment within the last two years.
  • Familiarity with the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and its principles.
  • Experience in maintaining records and tracking children's progress.
  • Understanding of behaviors associated with additional needs.
  • A Child Only DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.

Responsibilities of the Early Years Practitioner:

  • Collaborate with the class teacher to enhance the learning experience of early years children in a special educational needs setting.
  • Assist in implementing play-based learning activities that support the overall development of children.
  • Provide support to children on an individual and small group basis.
  • Build respectful and trusting relationships with children and their families.
  • Offer academic, emotional, and physical assistance to students, including personal care when necessary.
  • Hold a Child Only DBS registered to the Update Service or be prepared to apply for one through GSL Education.

Note: This position requires a thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection. Successful candidates must pass all background checks, including an enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
