About GSL Education: GSL Education is seeking a passionate and qualified Early Years Practitioner to join a dedicated team within an Alternative Provision in North Yorkshire.

Requirements for Early Years Practitioner:

  • Possession of a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Early Years, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 6 months experience in an Early Years or Nursery environment within the last 2 years.
  • Familiarity with the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, principles, and practices.
  • Experience in maintaining records and tracking children's progress.
  • Understanding of behaviours associated with additional needs.
  • A Child Only DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.

Responsibilities of the Early Years Practitioner:

  • Collaborate with the class teacher to enhance the learning experience of early years children in a special educational needs setting.
  • Assist in delivering play-based learning activities that contribute to children's overall development.
  • Provide support to children on both a 1:1 and small group basis.
  • Build rapport and establish respectful, trusting relationships with children and their families.
  • Offer academic, emotional, and physical support to pupils, including personal care when necessary.
  • Hold a Child Only DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one with GSL Education.
