Security Officer

Job Summary:
As a Security Officer with ABM, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our customers, staff, and assets within a busy shopping centre. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular patrols of the shopping centre, including car parks, to deter criminal activity and ensure a safe environment.
- Monitor and operate CCTV systems, alarms, and other security equipment to detect and respond to suspicious activities.
- Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, including first aid situations, fire alarms, theft, and other security incidents.
- Monitor and control access to restricted areas, ensuring only authorized personnel are allowed entry.
- Provide excellent customer service to visitors and staff, maintaining a visible and approachable presence.
- Report incidents, observations, and patrols accurately and in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) licence.
- Previous experience in a security role, preferably within a retail or shopping centre environment.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions:
- Shift work, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
