Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ophthalmology Consultant to join our team at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients and contributing to the development of our Ophthalmology service.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Share clinical and managerial leadership within the Ophthalmology service with the present consultants.
  • Support the provision of General Ophthalmology with a subspecialty interest complementary to the other consultants.
  • Deliver outpatient clinics and day case surgery.
  • Provide urgent and emergency care duties, including out-of-hours on-call.
  • Contribute to the development of our Ophthalmology service and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience requisite to meeting all aspects of the job plan.
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of receipt of CCT at the time of interview.
  • Completed Fellowship Training.
  • Success in Intercollegiate Specialty Examination or equivalent.
  • Extensive practical ophthalmic experience, including emergency Ophthalmic patients.
