Job Title: Head of Building Control

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Head of Building Control to join our team at ATS Recruitment. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the building control aspect of our business and ensuring compliance with building regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical input and advice on building control matters, including initial notices, site inspections, and final certification.
  • Ensure consistent application of technical policies and processes.
  • Identify non-compliance and technical risk, and work with the QA Risk and Compliance team to mitigate these risks.
  • Coach and mentor less experienced Building Control Surveyors.
  • Work closely with the Commercial Team to assist with tendering and quoting for complex projects.
  • Provide technical advice on peer reviews and escalated complaints.
  • Support the interpretation and communication of regulatory updates.
  • Ensure the highest quality and service standards are met.
Requirements:
  • A comprehensive knowledge of building control through a wide range of industry experience.
  • Corporate membership of an appropriate recognized professional body (CABE/RICS) and minimum of Level 4 Class Registration.
  • Previous experience as a RBI and a proven track record of ensuring compliance and enforcement of the Building Regulations.
  • Conversant with legislation and the Building Safety Regulatory requirements, including fire and health & safety.
  • Excellent communicator and people management skills at all levels.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
