We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of Building Control to join our client\u2019s team. As a key member of the organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the building control aspect of their business, ensuring compliance with building regulations and associated standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical input and advice on complex projects, ensuring compliance with building regulations and associated standards.
  • Ensure consistent application of technical policies and processes, identifying non-compliance and technical risks.
  • Coach and mentor less experienced Building Control Surveyors, promoting standardization of service levels.
  • Work closely with the Commercial Team on tendering and quoting for complex projects.
  • Provide technical advice on peer reviews and escalated complaints, ensuring high-quality service standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on projects, implementing new services and ensuring awareness of best practices in risk management processes.
  • Support the Academy, including Apprenticeship recruitment and CPD training needs across the business.
  • Interpret and communicate regulatory updates, ensuring the highest quality and service standards are met.
Requirements
  • Comprehensive knowledge of building control through a wide range of industry experience, including complex high-rise buildings, schools, hospitals, hotels, and care homes.
  • Previous experience as a RBI with a proven track record of ensuring compliance and enforcement of the Building Regulations.
  • Conversant with legislation and Building Safety Regulatory requirements, including fire and health & safety.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision, making pragmatic and value-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and people management skills at all levels.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
