Position Overview

An exceptional opportunity exists for a qualified clinician with advanced practice credentials to become a part of our Back and Neck Service at Allied Health Professionals Suffolk CIC. This role demands specialized clinical expertise in the evaluation and treatment of spinal disorders.

We seek a clinician who will collaborate within the Back and Neck Service, contributing to a highly skilled clinical team. This position involves both independent practice and teamwork with multidisciplinary professionals, including spinal and pain specialists, to manage a diverse caseload of chronic and sub-acute back and neck pain.

This full-time position offers flexibility regarding work locations within the region.

Key Responsibilities

As a member of the Back and Neck Service, you will manage a caseload, delivering expert clinical care autonomously and as part of multidisciplinary teams.

Your experience in collaborating with multidisciplinary clinical teams will be essential in supporting broader musculoskeletal services. As an advanced practitioner, you will lead by example, facilitating training and education, service enhancement, audit, and research initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

Main Duties

The clinician will:

  • Deliver expert, highly advanced clinical care with full professional autonomy, including patient assessment, diagnostic procedures, and management for a complex patient demographic within the Back and Neck Service.
  • Provide professional and clinical leadership in spinal care in collaboration with Advanced Practitioner colleagues, under the guidance of the Lead Advanced Practice Physiotherapist.
  • Collaborate closely with other Advanced Practitioners, spinal consultants, pain specialists, general practitioners, and established physiotherapists to enhance and develop the Back and Neck service.

Candidate Profile

Knowledge

Essential

  • Extensive specialist clinical experience and knowledge relevant to the specialty.
  • Evidence of recent study in the pertinent clinical area.
  • Understanding of professional ethics and their application in practice.
  • Demonstrated involvement in clinical governance and risk assessment.

Desirable

  • Broad knowledge of health legislation.
  • Familiarity with clinical governance and risk management.
  • Awareness of current NHS and professional educational issues.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree or Graduate Diploma in a relevant therapy.
  • MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent.
  • Significant post-qualification experience (minimum 5 years) in Musculoskeletal and Spinal specialist roles.
  • HCPC registration.
  • Evidence of ongoing education.

Desirable

  • Membership in relevant special interest groups.
  • Management or leadership training.
  • CSP membership.

  • Demonstrated theoretical and practical skills in advanced clinical practice and clinical reasoning in musculoskeletal and spinal physiotherapy.
