A leading renewable energy company, Astute People, is seeking an experienced Plant Operations Director to lead the day-to-day operations of an anaerobic digestion plant in the UK. As a key member of the operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the plant's safety, health, and environmental standards are met while driving a high-performance culture on site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the operations team: Manage and motivate a team of site operations staff to achieve plant performance targets and maintain a safe working environment.
- Optimize plant performance: Develop and implement strategies to improve plant efficiency, reduce costs, and increase revenue.
- Manage site finances: Oversee the site's budget and ensure that all financial transactions are accurate and compliant with company policies.
- Implement maintenance programs: Develop and implement a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) system to ensure the plant's equipment is properly maintained and minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with stakeholders: Work closely with other departments, including HR, procurement, and sales, to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
Requirements:
- Education: Degree, HNC, or apprenticeship in a relevant engineering field.
- Experience: Managerial or supervisory experience in anaerobic digestion or related sectors (e.g., Energy from Waste, Water Treatment).
- Skills: Strong leadership skills, hands-on approach, and a passion for continuous improvement.
- Certifications: Health & Safety qualification such as IOSH/NEBOSH and ideally WAMITAB COTC Level 4 certification.
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary: Up to £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
- Bonus scheme: Up to 10% of salary based on plant performance.
