Interventional Cardiology Fellow

We are seeking a highly skilled Interventional Cardiology Fellow to join our team at University Hospitals Dorset. This fixed-term appointment offers dedicated high-intensity training in interventional cardiology, ideal for trainees with at least 4 years of General Cardiology experience and first operator experience in coronary intervention.
This opportunity is suitable for trainees who are already in an SpR/ST7 position or have completed their CCT in Cardiology. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Main Responsibilities:
- To understand the role in more detail, please read the full job description and person specification documents.
- To participate in audit and demonstrate participation in medical procedures, including CV line insertion, Pleural taps, and Transthoracic Echocardiography.
- To work independently as an Angiogram operator with a minimum of cases.
- To contribute to the development of complex PCI procedures as a first operator.
- To participate in research and publication in cardiology, especially intervention.
Person Specification:
- Qualifications: MRCP (UK) or equivalent.
- Experience: At least 3 years general medical experience post-qualification and appropriate experience in cardiology.
- Technical Skills: Must understand and demonstrate participation in audit, all essential medical procedures, and manual dexterity.
