Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Interventional Cardiology Fellow to join our team at University Hospitals Dorset. This fixed-term appointment offers dedicated high-intensity training in interventional cardiology, ideal for trainees with at least 4 years of General Cardiology experience and first operator experience in coronary intervention.

This opportunity is suitable for trainees who are already in an SpR/ST7 position or have completed their CCT in Cardiology. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with our experienced team and contribute to the development of our cardiovascular medicine services.

Main Responsibilities

  • To understand the role in more detail, please read the full job description and person specification documents.
  • To participate in audit and demonstrate participation in medical procedures, including CV line insertion, Pleural taps, and Transthoracic Echocardiography.
  • To work independently as an Angiogram operator with a minimum of cases.
  • To contribute to the development of our cardiovascular medicine services and participate in research and publication opportunities.

Person Specification

  • Qualifications: MRCP (UK) or equivalent.
  • Experience: At least 3 years general medical experience post-qualification and appropriate experience in cardiology.
  • Technical Skills: Must understand and demonstrate participation in audit, medical procedures, and manual dexterity.
