Senior Design Engineer

Axis Technology and Development Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to join our team in Gilford, Northern Ireland. As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing detailed designs and drawings using SolidWorks software, coordinating with Senior Designers and Technicians to manage projects, and reducing cost and cycle time on current plant equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop precision engineering solutions for the food, agricultural, and material handling industries
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design meets customer requirements and company standards
- Use 3D and 2D software, including SolidWorks and Autocad, to create designs and drawings
- Manage and liaise with customers and suppliers on design specifics, aesthetics, and plant requirements
- Participate in Research and Development projects, both in the office and workshop
- Support sales through sales drawings, preliminary technical specifications, site visits, and technical advice on products and process development
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance product quality, profitability, and customer satisfaction
- Working knowledge of stainless steel and structures
- Precision engineering experience
- Effective communication and articulation skills at all levels, internally and externally
- Positive attitude and flexibility in work approach
- Awareness of general Health and Safety rules
- Qualifications: degree in Mechanical Engineering, at least 5 years post-graduate design experience in precision engineering
