Clinical Psychologist for Older Adults

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our team as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist for Older Adults. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development and delivery of high-quality psychological services for older adults in our acute pathway.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical, professional, and strategic leadership in developing and maintaining systematic, high-quality, and comprehensive psychology services for older adults within the acute pathway.
- Lead the development and implementation of service improvements and developments in both specialist and generic areas.
- Manage referrals and waiting lists and contribute to the strategic development of services.
- Represent the profession in local policy fora and liaise and negotiate with commissioners and others concerned with determining service provision.
- Work collaboratively with the locality senior leadership team(s) and specialty clinical network to enhance and evaluate the psychological care offer for older people across acute inpatient wards, respite, and urgent care services.
- Doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS.
- Post-doctoral training in one or more additional relevant specialized areas of psychological practice.
- Knowledge of relevant NHS structures, processes, and policies.
- Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical, and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers, and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS.
- Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the BPS.
- Undertaken supervision training.
- Formal leadership and/or management training.
- Approved Clinician training.
