Job Summary

Save the Children is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nutrition Officer to support the implementation of quality nutrition services at our nutrition facilities and within the served communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Implementation
    • Oversee the day-to-day implementation of nutrition programs at assigned facilities and communities.
    • Support the establishment and strengthening of nutrition sites in targeted shelters and health centers.
  • Technical Support
    • Provide technical assistance on Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) and Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) to counsellors, nurses, and community engagement workers.
    • Ensure staff are trained on and use national/nutrition cluster guidelines/SOPs on provision of nutrition services.
  • Supervision and Coaching
    • Conduct regular supportive supervision and provide on-the-job coaching for nutrition site staff.
    • Identify capacity gaps and feed into capacity building plans for the team.
  • Data Collection and Reporting
    • Ensure timely and accurate nutrition data collection and reporting in collaboration with MEAL and nutrition teams.
    • Prepare and share regular reports to the Nutrition Coordinator.
  • Collaboration and Coordination
    • Ensure effective collaboration and coordination with stakeholders, including nutrition cluster partners, health and nutrition service providers, UN agencies, NGOs, and MoH.
Requirements
  • Qualifications
    • Medical Doctor (MBBS)/ B.Sc. in Nutrition, Public Health, Pharmacy, Nursing, or Midwifery.
  • Experience
    • 3 years' experience in a similar role.
    • Good understanding of CMAM & IYCF programs.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multicultural team.
    • Motivated and prepared to work in nutrition sites in challenging conditions.
    • Ability to communicate with conflict-affected populations.
    • Experience working with NGOs.
    • Experience in individual/group counselling.
