Job Summary

Lead the future of renal nutrition care with expertise and innovation at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust. We are seeking a skilled renal dietitian to lead and enhance our Renal Dietetic service in a fixed-term position of 9-12 months.

Main Duties

In this role, you will deliver highly specialized assessments and interventions to patients with complex renal conditions, collaborating with the renal multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to both inpatients and outpatients within our nephrology service.

About the Role

You will offer clinical leadership in your specialist area, serving as an expert resource for dietitians and healthcare professionals. Additionally, you will oversee and manage Band 6 staff, supporting ongoing professional development and supervision through Renal Nutrition Group Meetings and participation in UHL Satellite Group meetings.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Degree in Nutrition & Dietetics or Degree followed by a Masters in Dietetics
  • HCPC registered Dietitian
  • Strong evidence of CPD (portfolio) to include postgraduate learning and experience in renal Dietetics

Desirable

  • Supplementary prescriber

Key Skills

  • Critically appraise evidence and use findings to plan and provide enhanced patient-centred clinical care
  • Undertake holistic patient-centred assessments using available tools, technologies and techniques
  • Plan and facilitate the delivery of practice-based education, training and assessment activities
  • Use communication strategies suitable for a variety of situations including complex, sensitive and distressing information
  • Contribute to quality improvement plans and strategies to support a culture of continuous quality improvement within area of enhanced clinical practice
  • Reflect on own and others' practice using clinical supervision processes
