Position Overview

The successful candidate will be a driven and well-organized individual with expertise in cell and gene therapy, process optimization, and biotechnology. Essential technical proficiencies include molecular biology, cell culture techniques, and analytical methodologies such as flow cytometry, ELISA, and qPCR. Collaboration with team members will be crucial in advancing processes that are suitable for the production and assessment of high-quality cell-based products.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the team to develop and refine cell-based potency analytical procedures.
  • Conduct routine maintenance of both suspension and adherent cell cultures, including automated cell counting and support in the generation and upkeep of cell banks.
  • Execute method qualification and validation according to project specifications.
  • Perform regular maintenance on laboratory instruments as necessary.
  • Maintain meticulous and well-organized laboratory notebooks, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks of reagents and laboratory supplies.
  • Compile development reports and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Assist in technology transfers, including training on analytical procedures as required by project needs.

The individual in this role will be expected to adhere to all health and safety protocols established by the organization.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Practical experience in culturing mammalian cells, both adherent and suspension (Essential).
  • Exemplary aseptic technique (Essential).
  • Hands-on experience with cell-based assays and techniques pertinent to viral vector biology, including transfection and transduction (Preferred).
  • Familiarity with flow cytometry (Preferred).

Qualifications

  • MSc (Preferred) or BSc (Essential) in Immunology, Biology/Biochemistry, or a related field, with relevant industry or academic experience (Preferred).

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong understanding of immunology and cell biology (Essential).
  • Knowledge of good laboratory practices (Essential).
  • Ability to present findings clearly and logically (Essential).
  • Proactive and adaptable personality with a keen interest in learning (Essential).
  • Excellent attention to detail and capability to follow SOPs and protocols accurately (Essential).
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced industry environment (Essential).
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, DOE, and other relevant software applications (Essential).
  • Understanding of regulatory guidelines governing cell-based and biopharmaceutical development (Preferred).
