About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Laboratory Technician to join our Cell and Gene Therapy Service at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the optimization and validation of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) manufacturing processes for Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs).

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of GMP manufacturing processes for ATMPs.
  • Participate in the manufacturing of ATMP products for clinical trials.
  • Validate quality control tests relevant to ATMP manufacture.
  • Develop and implement new batch manufacturing records, standard operating procedures, and worksheets.
  • Accurately complete GMP documentation related to manufacturing, storage, and shipment of ATMPs.
  • Ensure compliance with UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) GMP and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) regulations.
  • Contribute to the overall normal activities of the research team and department as required.
Requirements
  • BSc in Medical Laboratory Science or completion of a Science Technology Partnership (STP) training program or equivalent.
  • Experience of working in a CPA/UKAS accredited laboratory or other related translational laboratory.
  • Understanding of the structure of a Pharmacy Quality System for manufacture under an MHRA license.
  • Experience in GMP manufacturing and ATMP production.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work without supervision, and good organizational skills.
