Our purpose-built care home in Margate, Kent, provides exceptional levels of Residential, Nursing, Dementia & Respite care. As a Housekeeper / Laundry Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the care home, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Empty waste bins and maintain a clean and hygienic environment
  • Vacuum and dust all areas, including furniture and fixtures
  • Shake out cushions and clean dining rooms, lounges, and toilets
  • Clean taps, sinks, and soap dispenser outlets
  • Spot clean all flooring and wash bathroom, toilet, and en-suite floors
  • Polish mirrors and clean pipe work in toilets
  • Dust handrails and radiators, and move mobile furniture for cleaning
  • Wash out metal wastepaper bins and dust and polish furniture and windowsills
  • Wash lino floors and shampoo carpets as requested by the Home Manager
  • Dust light bulbs, curtains, pictures, and fittings, and restock toiletries and soaps
  • Ensure laundry services are effective and work in line with guidance and expectations
  • Ensure laundry and personal possessions of residents are safe and returned to them, labeled as directed
  • Ensure Health and Safety, infection prevention and control, and fire safety within the laundry and wider care environment
  • Work with other staff to ensure the laundry service is effective
