About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Psychologist to join our Perinatal Mental Health Service (PMHS) in Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality psychological therapies to mothers and their infants, promoting maternal mental health and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist assessment and intervention to mothers and their infants, using evidence-based perinatally informed psychological therapies.
  • Deliver supervision and consultation to the PMHS team, supporting the ongoing service development of perinatal psychology and the perinatal service.
  • Lead on pathway and interface development with local stakeholders and partner agencies, ensuring seamless care for mothers and their infants.
  • Provide clinical leadership and support to the PMHS team, promoting staff wellbeing and development.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Professional and doctoral training in Clinical/Counselling psychology, accredited by the British Psychological Society.
  • High-level knowledge of the theory and practice of at least two specialised psychological therapies.
  • Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients across a range of care settings, including community and primary care.
  • Experience of supporting staff wellbeing, leading initiatives to support staff with managing stressful and challenging cases.
