About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Psychologist to join our Perinatal Mental Health Service (PMHS) in Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality psychological therapies to mothers and their infants, promoting maternal mental health and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist assessment and intervention to mothers and their infants, utilizing evidence-based perinatally informed psychological therapies.
  • Deliver supervision and consultation to the PMHS, ensuring the highest standards of care and service development.
  • Contribute to the development of Perinatal Psychology within the trust, participating in research and audit initiatives.
  • Lead on pathway and interface development with local stakeholders and partner agencies, promoting seamless care coordination.
  • Provide clinical leadership and support to the PMHS, mentoring junior psychologists and non-psychology staff.
  • Support staff wellbeing initiatives, utilizing reflective groups and teaching work stress resilience approaches.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Professional and doctoral training in Clinical/Counselling psychology, accredited by the British Psychological Society.
  • High-level knowledge of the theory and practice of at least two specialized psychological therapies.
  • Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients across various care settings.
  • Experience of supporting staff wellbeing and leading initiatives to manage stressful cases.
