Position Overview

A leading Global Health and Wellness organization is seeking a seasoned Financial Operations Manager to oversee the European Accounting Functions. This role offers a hybrid working model, allowing for 3 days in the office and 2 days of remote work.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Enhancing procedures, processes, and systems to ensure compliance with operational, reporting, and statutory audit requirements.
  • Managing both US and Local GAAP accounting functions alongside all tax reporting obligations.
  • Supporting banking and vendor relationships while spearheading the European annual budget and monthly forecasting processes.
  • Assisting the General Manager in evaluating proposed initiatives and investments.
Essential Duties

This role includes a variety of essential duties such as:

  • Directing the preparation of financial processes, filings, statements, and reports in alignment with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, including local GAAP conversions for statutory reporting.
  • Providing financial insights for various functions, special projects, and analyses to support strategic initiatives.
  • Developing and maintaining corporate accounting policies, taking into account local market nuances.
  • Overseeing all local accounting and finance functions, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Cash Management.
  • Managing local audits and supporting global consolidated audits as necessary.
  • Assisting in inventory valuation, control, reporting, and management.
  • Reviewing staff expense reports in accordance with company policies and securing necessary approvals.
  • Collaborating with the General Manager to create and manage the budget and monthly forecasts.
  • Proactively identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Owning the trial balances for the European region.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely postings.
  • Completing all balance sheet reconciliations and clearing reconciling items promptly.
  • Preparing supporting schedules for all balance sheet accounts.
  • Analyzing business results and trends.
  • Meeting with the General Manager monthly to review overall market financials.
  • Assessing the impact of promotions, events, and other business initiatives.
  • Identifying and monitoring relevant KPIs.
  • Anticipating opportunities and risks for business operations.
Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in an accounting or finance role, with a strong background in business financials and management.
  • Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
  • A solid understanding of costing accounting principles.
  • Extensive international experience.
  • Experience in the network marketing or health and wellness sectors.
  • Familiarity with DAX software.
