Finance Operations Manager
Location: Hybrid Working Arrangement

The PSP Association is the sole charity in the UK dedicated to providing assistance and information to individuals affected by Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) and Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD).

Since its inception, the organization has been committed to enhancing awareness of these conditions among healthcare and social care professionals, while also funding vital research aimed at improving diagnosis and treatment options, primarily through voluntary contributions.

We are currently seeking a Finance Operations Manager to become a part of our team on a part-time, permanent basis, working 26 hours per week, distributed over four to five days.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified accountant with a background in financial management to join our dedicated and impactful organization.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring effective financial oversight and management, directly contributing to our mission and positively impacting the lives of families affected by PSP and CBD.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic financial planning and ensure effective financial management for the charity.
  • Oversee the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Manage bookkeeping, payroll, and regular reconciliations.
  • Produce monthly management and financial accounts to fulfill statutory obligations.
  • Develop a treasury policy and manage cash and investments.
  • Provide financial expertise and support to all teams within the organization.
  • Act as the primary contact for auditors, banks, HMRC, Companies House, the Charity Commission, payroll, and pension providers.
  • Ensure financial systems and processes are up-to-date and compliant.
  • Prepare information for the Board of Trustees and support the Finance and Risk Committee.
  • Implement enhancements to the integration of finance systems with Salesforce.
  • Oversee the daily accounting functions, including invoicing, payroll, and cash flow management.
  • Maintain all tax registrations and submissions.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in financial management, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
  • Familiarity with Xero or similar financial accounting software.
  • Knowledge of charity financial accounting practices.
