Financial Operations Manager

Salary: £65,000 - £70,000 + bonus, benefits & Hybrid working.

The Head of Financial Operations is seeking a motivated and ambitious Financial Operations Manager who can integrate seamlessly into the team. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the timely, consistent, and insightful reporting of both financial and non-financial data to senior stakeholders throughout the organization, while also stepping in for the Head of Financial Operations and FP&A during trading discussions.

We are looking for a commercially astute Qualified Accountant with robust problem-solving abilities who can effectively build relationships at all levels of the organization, including senior executives. This role involves working within a compact team and overseeing one Finance Analyst.

The ideal candidate will be a confident and reassuring professional with exceptional Excel capabilities and the aptitude to foster relationships across the broader organization. A strong analytical mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential, as the business operates in a fast-paced and ever-evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of generating and delivering weekly trading reports across all divisions of the organization.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboard reporting, incorporating insights on both financial and non-financial metrics.
  • Oversee the establishment and upkeep of internal financial reporting systems, collaborating with third-party providers to implement necessary improvements.
  • Manage the reporting and performance evaluation of key revenue and gross margin components.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for the commercial team regarding any ad hoc inquiries.
  • Contribute to high-level rolling forecasts and the annual budgeting process, with the ability to reconstruct and update financial models and articulate changes to all senior team members.
  • Ensure the delivery of precise trading information utilized externally to inform shareholders about organizational performance.
  • Facilitate regular P&L review sessions with the Operations Director and Regional Managers to pinpoint areas for improvement.
  • Act as the point of contact for Regional Managers and site managers concerning P&L and financial inquiries.
  • Provide coverage for the Group Head of Financial Operations and FP&A as needed, including presenting at trading meetings.
  • Supervise and mentor one Financial Operations Analyst.

To excel in this position, candidates should be Qualified Commercial Accountants with a minimum of 2-3 years of post-qualification experience and a genuine aspiration to advance to the Head of Financial Operations role within the next two years.
