About the Role

Morgan Jones Limited is seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to join their leadership team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the company's compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance and Risk Management
    • Ensure the company's operations are carried out in a manner that is compliant with all health, safety, and environmental legislation and permitting.
    • Undertake proactive engagement and communicate with site staff to ensure they are complying with safe working practices and procedures through regular inspections.
  • Health, Safety, and Environmental Management
    • Actively manage fire safety on site, including undertaking fire risk assessments and arranging any necessary improvements and repairs.
    • Manage statutory medical surveillance as required by CLaW, COSHH, Noise at Work, night working, etc., and maintain records.
    • Arrange statutory plant inspections for LOLER, LEV, Pressure Vessels, etc., and maintain records.
  • Training and Development
    • Write and deliver Health, Safety, and Environmental training requirements for all employees, including the agency.
    • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, making reports under RIDDOR where required and reporting to the company's insurers when necessary.
  • Reporting and Record-Keeping
    • Compile accident statistics, identifying trends and taking action accordingly.
    • Record and maintain all Health, Safety, and Environmental records.
Requirements
  • Qualifications and Experience
    • A solid understanding of health and safety and environmental legislation applicable in the UK.
    • A full Member of a relevant professional body (or working towards it), e.g., IOSH, CIWM, RoSPA, IEMA.
    • A current and valid NEBOSH Diploma.
    • Possess an Environmental Management Diploma.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • A proven track record of working in a high-risk environment.
    • Strong computer skills in MS Office and other typical business-orientated IT systems.
    • The ability to communicate on all levels within a company, both in writing and orally.
    • A proactive and continuous improvement attitude to HSQE on site.
