Procurement Manager

We are seeking two experienced Procurement Managers to join our Procurement Services team within Newcastle University's Finance Hub. The successful candidates will be responsible for managing contracts and framework agreements, providing an effective procurement service, and leading the category to ensure compliance with audit requirements and University policies.
The ideal candidates will have a comprehensive understanding of contract law and Public Procurement Regulations, as well as experience in drafting and negotiating complex contractual documents. They will also possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and be able to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Key Responsibilities- Manage contracts and framework agreements through the full procurement life cycle
- Provide an effective procurement service, including category management and performance measurement
- Lead the category and provide guidance to stakeholders on operation of structured engagements and management plans
- Negotiate and agree contractual terms, and sign contracts on behalf of the University
- Resolve procurement contract conflicts and disagreements with suppliers
- Current and comprehensive understanding of contract law and Public Procurement Regulations
- Working knowledge of customs and excise procedures
- Demonstrable skills in procurement category management and project management
- Extensive experience in drafting and negotiating complex contractual documents
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
