Procurement Manager Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join our client, a Newcastle-based public sector organisation, on an interim basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the procurement function and ensuring the delivery of procurement activities in line with the organisation's requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the procurement team and ensure they are equipped to handle the impending changes in public procurement legislation.
  • Develop and implement a procurement strategy that aligns with the organisation's goals.
  • Manage procurement activities, including tendering, contract management, and supplier relationships.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure procurement activities are aligned with organisational objectives.

About the Role:

This is a 6-month interim opportunity, with the possibility of extending or converting to a permanent position. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to apply for the permanent role.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in procurement, preferably in a public sector organisation.
  • Proven track record of leading procurement teams and implementing procurement strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of public procurement legislation and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
