Highly Specialist Speech Therapist

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Speech and Language Therapist to lead our school-based communication and dysphagia service for children and young people with severe learning difficulties, including profound and multiple learning difficulties.
Main Responsibilities- Provide highly specialist assessment, diagnosis, and intervention to children with complex needs, dysphagia, and/or speech, language, and communication needs.
- Support parents, school staff, and other professionals in client management and liaison with the multidisciplinary team.
- Contribute to statutory assessments of special educational needs and delivery of SLT provision as specified in Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Provide clinical supervision, line management, and peer review to other SLTs and students, and support in the training and development of junior dysphagia therapists.
- Contribute to developments within individual teams and the broader service, including policy and procedure development, evidence-based practice, care pathways, and outcome development.

Requirements- Essential qualifications: Degree or equivalent, Licence to Practice - Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, current registered membership of HCPC and RCSLT, further study in clinical field, and evidence of competency level C or above of the RCSLT Dysphagia Competency Framework.
- Desirable qualifications: Advanced dysphagia qualification, postgraduate paediatric dysphagia training, and membership of relevant Clinical Excellence Networks (CENs).
- Essential experience: Work with children with a wide range of speech, language, and communication difficulties, postgraduate paediatric dysphagia experience, collaborative work with parents and other professionals, and experience of multi-disciplinary and interagency working.
