Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Wyke. As a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will have the opportunity to deliver an evidence-based SLT service to meet the needs of our complex client group in an in-patient setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess, advise, and intervene with the aim of promoting functional communication systems and optimal independence.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver an evidence-based SLT service.
  • Train others, promote good practice, and maintain a successful total communication environment.
  • Screen, assess, and manage eating, drinking, and swallowing difficulties.
Requirements:
  • Registered Speech and Language Therapist with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council).
  • Experience in the field of adult mental health and/or ASD.
  • Dysphagia qualification is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
