About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Java Developer to join our team at Ecclesiastical Insurance Group. As a Java Developer, you will play a key role in the development and maintenance of our main Specialist General Insurance Platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, support, and maintain our main Specialist General Insurance Platform using Java 11+
  • Collaborate with Platform Architects, System Analysts, and Product Owners to produce systems designs and specifications
  • Participate in continuous improvement reviews through Sprint retrospectives, identifying and leading opportunities to improve current methods, practices, and processes
  • Work with the wider systems development and system test teams to ensure successful completion and deployment of changes
  • Apply Agile methodologies, specifically the Scrum Framework, to drive project delivery
Requirements
  • Experience in developing enterprise-scale Java applications
  • Ability to write automated tests
  • Understanding of relational databases
  • Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks
  • Experience with Git, Git Flow, and BitBucket version control
  • Knowledge of working with Jenkins pipelines
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Understanding of software design and software architecture principles
