About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Developer to join our team in Gloucester, with hybrid working between home and office to suit your routine. As a key member of our Continuous Improvement Team, you will be working within our Programme level, using the Scrum Framework.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, support and maintain our main Specialist General Insurance Platform
  • Collaborate with Platform Architect, System Analysts and Product Owners to produce systems designs and specifications
  • Participate in continuous improvement reviews through Sprint retrospectives, identifying and leading opportunities to improve current methods, practices and processes
  • Work in collaboration with the wider systems development and system test teams to ensure successful completion and deployment of changes
  • Apply your expertise in the Scrum Framework, seeking new ways of working
Requirements
  • Experience of developing enterprise scale Java applications (Java 11+)
  • Ability to write Automated tests
  • Understanding of relational databases
  • Knowledge of JavaScript Frameworks
  • Experience with Git, Git Flow and BitBucket Version Control
  • Knowledge of working with Jenkins pipelines
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Understanding of software design and software architecture principles
