Job Description

Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Burnley, Lancashire

Job Type: Full-time

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 15:30pm

Pay: £13.50 per hour

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with additional needs. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Class Teacher and other professionals to implement strategies and promote the child's learning and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build strong relationships with children and their families through a nurturing approach.
  • Provide a safe and inclusive environment that enables the child to achieve their full potential.
  • Work collaboratively with the Class Teacher and other professionals to implement strategies and promote the child's learning and development.
  • Recognize and identify gaps in children's learning and communicate this with the Class Teacher to plan and deliver interventions.
  • Have a calm and consistent approach to establish a clear school routine.
  • Promote the inclusive school ethos and values.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children who have additional needs.
  • Level 2 or above Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of the National Curriculum.
  • Enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and ensuring the safety of pupils.
  • Enhanced DBS certificate.
  • Experience supporting children with Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
