About the Role
The Youth Justice Service at Leicestershire County Council is a dynamic and diverse team dedicated to providing exceptional support to young individuals aged 10-17 who require assistance. We are seeking a motivated and innovative practitioner to join our team, which is committed to achieving positive outcomes for children and young people through empowerment and advocacy.
Our service is designed to address the needs of young people facing challenges that cannot be met by standard services. We offer a variety of interventions, including street-based youth work, support for those who have gone missing, and assistance for individuals involved with the Criminal Justice System. Our approach ensures that the voices of young people are central to our work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build meaningful relationships with children and support them on their journey towards a brighter future.
- Deliver child-centered approaches to those engaging in offending behavior.
- Coordinate multi-agency strategies to deter youth from offending and re-offending.
- Engage in continuous learning and development related to court processes.
An enhanced DBS check is a requirement for this position. A valid driving license and access to a vehicle are essential, as the role may involve working outside standard office hours, including evenings and weekends.
About You
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- NVQ Level 4 in a relevant field and substantial experience working with children and families.
- Experience in case management and direct work with vulnerable young people.
- Proven ability to develop and implement creative interventions tailored to individual needs.
- Understanding of the complexities faced by children and families, particularly in relation to youth justice.
- Knowledge of safeguarding practices and relevant youth justice frameworks.
