Advanced Practitioner

Leicestershire County Council seeks an Advanced Practitioner to join its Practice Excellence Team. This role is critical in supporting and developing practitioners working within Targeted Family Help, fostering a culture of good practice.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a team, including the Principal Social Worker, Learning and Improvement Managers, and other Advanced Practitioners. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing 1:1 support to practitioners across teams, encompassing reflective discussions, safety plan development, challenging visits, and network meeting facilitation.
- Supporting PODs through group supervision, promoting curiosity and learning opportunities.
- Fostering wellbeing and retention among skilled and dedicated staff.
- Participating in Signs of Safety training delivery and organization, including core training and workshops.
- Contributing to trauma-informed practice training, encompassing foundation training and specific workshops.
- Engaging in key activities like annual conferences, virtual practice forums, recruitment, and quality assurance.
This position focuses on providing support to Targeted Family Help and Family Help. A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
About You
To apply, you must hold a level 4 qualification or above in a relevant subject, such as NVQ4 childcare, youth justice, social work, teaching, or significant experience in managing and developing staff within children and family services. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in early help services and/or children's social care, with substantial breadth and depth across various areas. Demonstrable application of Signs of Safety methodology, trauma-informed approach, coaching/mentoring, and evidence of challenging inadequate practice are essential. Experience in whole-family working, safeguarding children, and managing risk is also crucial.
