Overview: A remarkable opportunity has emerged for a Senior Electrical Systems Engineer to join a leading contractor specializing in shopfitting projects.

Role Purpose: The primary responsibility is to oversee the effective design and planning of electrical contracting projects, particularly within the food and retail sectors.

Company Outlook: The contractor is experiencing a high volume of projects and has a robust order book for the foreseeable future in the retail shopfitting domain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with clients, third-party representatives, and management to ensure that all project plans and designs are executed proficiently.

The Senior Electrical Systems Engineer will coordinate the design and planning phases from the moment a contract is awarded.

Design and Planning:

  • Utilize the company's design software (Electrical OM) to create a coherent and feasible plan that aligns with customer specifications or adheres to industry best practices.
  • Input design data into the estimating software (Ensign) to generate a detailed list of project requirements.
  • Maintain the Ensign software database efficiently and in a timely manner.
  • Provide the Electrical OM output to CAD for the development of a comprehensive project drawing package.
  • Review CAD outputs to ensure accuracy and compliance with customer specifications and Electrical OM outputs.
  • Collaborate with relevant third-party agencies to ensure that project plans accommodate their requirements and client-focused needs.
  • Maintain version control over all documents, plans, and drawings within a project package.
  • Submit project packages to clients and make necessary amendments as requested.
  • Evaluate responses to quote requests and select suppliers based on those quotations.
  • Issue Purchase Orders to selected suppliers.
  • Coordinate with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors regarding the fulfillment of contracts.
  • Conduct pre-start site measurement surveys as necessary.
  • Occasionally prepare written reports related to the design and planning of client projects.
  • Familiarity with the Electrical OM software is advantageous but not mandatory.
