About the Role

Ampere Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-voltage electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design and develop high-voltage electrical systems and components, including power generation, transmission, and distribution systems.
  • Electrical Design Analysis: Conduct detailed electrical design analysis, including load flow, short circuit, and protection coordination studies.
  • System Design and Documentation: Develop schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings for high-voltage systems.
  • System Modelling and Analysis: Perform system modelling, simulation, and analysis using specialized software tools.
  • Compliance and Quality: Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company quality guidelines.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, software, and project management, to ensure seamless integration of high-voltage systems.
  • Installation and Commissioning: Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of high-voltage systems.
  • Troubleshooting and Technical Support: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to high-voltage systems.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with advancements in high-voltage technology and industry trends.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of high-voltage power generation, transmission, and distribution systems.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in electrical design software such as ETAP, PSCAD, or similar tools.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., IEEE, IEC, NEC).
  • Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Independence and Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Professional Certification: Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is preferred.
Preferred Skills
  • Renewable Energy Experience: Experience with renewable energy systems (e.g., wind, solar) and their integration into high-voltage networks.
  • Protective Relaying and Substation Automation: Knowledge of protective relaying and substation automation.
  • High Voltage Testing and Diagnostic Equipment: Experience with high voltage testing and diagnostic equipment.
  • Project Management: Project management skills and experience in leading technical projects.
