About the Role

Newport Pagnell Medical Centre is seeking a temporary healthcare assistant to support our nursing team on a part-time basis for approximately 6 months. This role is essential in assisting the clinical team with the delivery of patient care programs. The annual salary for this position is £7,436.

Under the direct supervision of the lead nurse and adhering to specific practice guidelines, you will utilize your clinical skills in various designated areas, including:

  • Venepuncture and phlebotomy checks;
  • Conducting new patient health assessments;
  • Organizing and replenishing consulting rooms;
  • Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment for patient care interventions, including assisting GPs during minor procedures;
  • Providing health promotion and education to patients, their families, and caregivers.

About the Candidate

We are looking for a qualified and experienced healthcare assistant who is ready for a new challenge. The ideal candidate will possess the following essential skills and qualifications:

  • Successful completion of the Care Certificate;
  • Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent;
  • Experience in a GP practice setting;
  • Strong clinical competencies;
  • Confidence and proficiency in all HCA responsibilities;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients;
  • Consistent confidentiality and a compassionate approach, valuing the dignity of patients, relatives, and colleagues;
  • Ability to work independently while managing workload priorities and collaborating within a multidisciplinary team;
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.

Desirable: A qualification in phlebotomy/venepuncture.
