Our students, who have either been expelled or are unable to access the standard curriculum, require dedicated professionals to guide them on their educational journey.

Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Mentor to support students' educational development, focusing on addressing their social, emotional, and mental health needs. This is a temporary position that will last for the duration of the academic year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, addressing academic and behavioural needs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of personalized learning plans for students with SEMH needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment through mentorship and guidance.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective support system.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address these.
  • Contribute to the development of a safe and supportive learning environment, promoting social, emotional, and mental well-being.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with students, parents, and carers, ensuring open and regular communication.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date with best practices and research in SEMH support.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the school, supporting the achievement of academic and personal goals.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications and experience in education or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of SEMH needs and effective support strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for supporting students with SEMH needs.
