Role OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Rail Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of rail infrastructure by performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, and assisting with repairs.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough safety checks on railway equipment and systems
- Provide technical support to specialist fitter staff during machine breakdowns or malfunctions
- Assist in carrying out all aspects of routine maintenance activities
- Promptly report any machine faults or failures to the designated control desk
- Execute assigned maintenance duties according to the established Maintenance Fitter Assessment Scheme
To excel in this position, you will possess:
- A strong understanding of computer and phone systems, including proficiency in Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Demonstrated flexibility, honesty, and punctuality
- A certified qualification in Vehicle, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering at NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills
- A valid full driving license to operate company vehicles
- A willingness to learn and participate in training programs
- A positive attitude and a commitment to professional excellence
- Availability to work weekends and night shifts as required
- A mechanical aptitude and a collaborative team-oriented approach
