Position Overview

As a Facilities Support Operative, you will collaborate closely with the Facilities Housekeeper, Facilities Team Leader, and other Facilities personnel, as well as the Matron and Heads of Departments when necessary.

The individual in this role will be guided by the Facilities Team Leader to perform a variety of tasks essential to the service's operations.

Your responsibilities will include maintaining a clean and organized work environment through a systematic and thorough approach, ensuring that all designated areas are addressed.

Areas requiring cleaning include restrooms, bathing facilities, patient rooms, ward spaces, day rooms, lounges, administrative offices, meeting areas, outdoor patios, and the immediate surroundings of entrances, outpatient facilities, kitchens, and sanitary zones.

The role will also involve troubleshooting equipment issues and adjusting cleaning schedules as necessary.

You will participate in training sessions as directed by the Facilities Team Leader, which will encompass cleaning methodologies and essential training such as Fire Safety, Manual Handling, COSHH, and Infection Control.

Additionally, you will mentor apprentices in their daily tasks, utilizing a buddy system to ensure they comprehend all Health and Safety protocols, as well as Trust policies and procedures.

Conduct environmental audits as required to assess cleanliness standards.
